I was with a couple of friends and this is what we took a picture of in the woods after I saw it. (Go to Possum above to see picture.)

Bringing this neat feller back! He a cute critter! Ran into him tonight on an evening jog! When opossum shows up as a totem, ask yourself some important questions. Are you acting or about to act in an inappropriate manner? Do you need to strengthen your own appearance? Are others putting up false appearances in front of you? Do you need to divert attention away from some activity? Are others trying to divert your attention? Is it time to go into your bag of tricks and pull out some new strategy? Learning to pretend and act in ways and with realism is the magic that opossum teaches. http://earthangel-jennie.blogspot.com/2013/04/animal-totem-opossum.html?m=1

The only possum story I have was riding a motorcycle no helmet years ago at night winding road and that sucker weaved the same way I would weave to avoid him, red eyes in the headlight, so close, but just missed him at the last second. Thinking back I could've been road kill but for some reason I made it, wonder why. I have had close calls but never though much about them until the last few years or so.

SI I have had similar things happen and have recalled them as well. Having gurus in our lives often leads to the realization that peculiar and unusual phenomena have happened to us in which we often have had protection as well....behind the scenes. Eric I like the message u garnered from this fellow. Please check the picture of one of these critters at the beginning of this topic. The lesson that it is trying to teach us seems quite obvious...ha ha! When opossum shows up as a totem, ask yourself some important questions. I think realization happens with or without gurus, but that's just me. There must be so many forces at work, hard to comprehend the complexity of every situation.

the opossum payed a visit tonight. he's quite cute and terrifying at the same time, he seemed comfortable moving about the shadow, and this fella took a gentle approach to the danger it had been confronted by.
a friend advised me earlier today to "shut my eyes" when the mind begins to wander. i think the message here is to practice a type of stillness when the mind becomes restless or beckons bad habits.
not always successful, and meditating while restless can be a challenge but i find changing routine can be just as helpful when trying to rise above or feel reinvigorated.
it's important to slow down and reassess ourselves and the moment whenever we find ourselves straining.
the unruly mind will have to get used to the one who take up the reins.

on the way home tonight i spotted my albino friend, only, he was laying there most certainly his body was bloodied and had died. i know the spirit is alive or else this message would not be trying to reach me so. moments later i saw a smaller gray opossum but i couldn't tell if she was dead or merely playing dead. i suppose i need to lay low and hurl myself back into the bosom of meditation... we never know when it's our time to leave these bodies.

the opossum, usually observed at night- made its presence known this morning by casually walking along our fence line.
having some apparent irritability and short fuses this morning, I took it as a sign to put these things to rest before going to work today.
to be calm and unphased by todays noise. what other mysteries are you showing me

My last few totem messages have come in pairs of 3.
The one before this, Opportunity and Will- channeled through the rabbit, frog and cricket.
Now I think there is a similar message of training, rebirth and spirit between the Hawk, Vulture and Opossum.
