I think that several earth size planets have been discovered around a sun 39 light years from our planet is amazingly inspiring! As technology increases we will meet more and more beings from distant places that we may have shared past life experiences with. We may need to revise our way of experiencing relationships in a physical sense since more and more beings will be able to be contacted in which shear distance makes physical contact quite inconceivable in this lifetime. We are even meeting beings now from around this world that we may never meet in the physical during this lifetime.

'The exoplanets were discovered around TRAPPIST-1, an ultra-cool dwarf star 235 trillion miles from Earth. Compared to our Sun, TRAPPIST-1 is small and cold, making the habitable zone much closer to the star. Thus, the planets orbit very close to the star and close to each other.'

Explanets; any planet that orbits a star outside our solar system. Origin of exoplanet.

Today while driving I've  been listening to an astronmy podcast by Debra Fischer

Very interesting, in 1992 most astronomists believed exoplanets, planets belonging to other solar systems, were very rare, whereas now we know that almost every star has its planets.

Dr. Fischer explains how her conservative estimate of the existiting planets in our galaxy is in the order of millions and ho we may even be receiveng signals from another civilization, but missing them because of very limited sensitivity of our technology. Most of the exoplantes are rocky planets, sure more favourable to life than the gas giants.

Space exploration project to exoplanets include sending nanobots which will be accelerated to a littel below light velocity and will send back data and images.

Another podcast in the same site is Sara Seager's, expert on the atmosphere of exoplanets.

Another extremely interesting illustration of cutting edge present research, the methods used to spot exoplanets, future developments and more

One consideration: with the present technology, the presence of so many exoplanets is going to change nothing in practice. Even if some promising one (with earth-like conditions) is found relatively close, it will still take so many years to send some explorative expeditions, even if only consisting in nanobots.

However, this might boost research toward more sensitive instrumentation, able to intercept signals which may have been sent by other civilizations. Such contact may make a difference soon.
They may send signals to help humanity evolve, or they may send signals to see if humanbeings would make up tasty food!!!!

Considering the fact that I doubt our ancestors could imagine us flying in huge jets and traveling around our solar system in one or two generations; I would not be to overly skeptical about our chances of taking leaps in technology with the ability to travel to distant star systems. In the meantime we can continue honing our meditation skills and get a jump start on technology by astro projecting to such far off places.

McCoy I was interested in your links but for some unknown reason they will not load on my ' smart ' phone.
