how helpful is the past really ? do we need it ? can it bind us ? what about physical transformation ? like changing your diet- if we've been eating so unhealthy for so long- is it possibly to COMPLETELY TRANSFORM or will there be some residue

hey V8 !  Cool

you cannot live without the past, it is always there

you learn from the past - sometimes, sometimes not

if not, then you keep meeting Karma and have to learn all over again  Grin

best to eat healthy, always time for a change, keep it real in the NOW  Cool

It takes 7 years to renew the molecular structure of your body. i would say that the residues of toxic meat products that r associated with the uric, uremic acids and the vibrations of the animal itself (fear territorial etc.) stay with our aura and in the crevices of intestines for longer creating disease and  other psychological and  emotional disorders. Yet there is no better time then now to change and fasting can also clean out the body of toxic waste.

What we have put into action in the past helps us understand the present we experience in the now.

We can often look at the record of time and see what we have brought with us. Eric you have 3 planets in Cancer. Chiron, Mercury and the Sun. People with planets in Cancer often look to the past for answers... whether it be in our own personal past or in a remote past of civilizations long gone. They often do  find answers or they learn how much they do not know from what they find out.

i have personally lost about 18 pounds over the last few months. This is a personal choice on my part. i just like to be slim. my weight has fluctuated quite a bit over the years.... depending on what work i was doing at the time and personal preference. Yet there are those people who believe i have lost too much. So it is a rather subjective opinion. i eat nothing but healthy lite food which is vegetarian. i will admit to having an occasional slim fast drink.

One of the most fascinating points i have found about the past is this: People i have really cared about have left my life, never to communicate with me again or they have made personal decisions that have taken them far from my life. At first i went thru the attachment process with them. Memories  and good times i shared with them plus the revelations they have given to my life were difficult to forget. Gradually however i recognized that their vibrations were no longer helpful to my life and i recognize that the way they have ended something is not at all the way i would have.  i would have not treated them in the same way. i have found that i have always made an effort to be kind to my past and the people in it. It is easier to let go of people who do not honor this principle.

Quite often we see people who have reoccurring destructive behavioral patterns and they can not help but influence us as we are exposed to the private hell that many people live in.  Many people see no reason for changing or make very little effort at changing these samskaras. However since it is a result of karma i see the karma from these situations dissipating like vapor. i feel less and less bound by the past and more and more living in the very present. Even though there is much to gain and learn to improve about ourselves from these encounters.

The present also is another identification i am presently releasing. We are not this mind or this body either. Just some thoughts-based on personal experience- i am adding... to your thread.

Sometimes people just naturally fall out. Having an emotionally driven personality I understand what you mean by going through an, "attachment" and detachment process. Sometimes when one is too attached, the other feels even more driven away. It's important not to focus on blame or hold ourselves victim to what we perceive as cruelty between once friends. Instead we can focus on the presnet as Squirell suggest. As Nikki said, the kind things shared between people, even those on now separate paths will never disappear. Hold on to those most of all. My past is focused on this life time. Looking at a life before this is different for me because I believe I've memories of a future life... What a cooky world we live in!  Cheesy

What are samskaras? Smiley
