Mccoy and others;
The main food I eat that is not fruit or vegetables grains and seeds is yogurt. I read many times about the benefit of live cultures in yogurt and it is tasty in blended drinks with fruit or mixed with honey and fruit. What do u now think of yogurt?
http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/benefits-of-yogurt#1I still think it's an excellent food, preferably unsweetened or with a little of our good quality honey, fullfat has an awesome taste.
Before eliminating dairy products, I used to make my own kefir, which has has the added benefit over yogurt of having often K2 (menaquinone) vitamin, which is pretty valuable. Besides, it is very unexpensive and easy to prepare.
Now sometimes I eat soy yogurt, which is by no way is as good as milk yogurt.
I quit eating dairy products because of the estrogens in milk and derivatives, that's unavoidable. They pose an hazard of prostate cancer or benign prostate hyperplasia. I was feeling some tiny nagging aches at my prostate plus had a too frequent urination, so, got concerned and eliminated any potential risk, plus am taking lots of preventive natural foods. The aches have gone away, don't know if the cause was my dietary change or not.
The phytoestrogens in soy, fava beans and other legumes compete with the other estrogens of other provenance, binding to receptors but lacking the same detrimental effect.
I lost a little weight, 2-3 pounds (which is not a desirable outcome to me) but am feeling pretty good.
