In our culture we are almost forced to believe a certain way and if we were in a different country it would be much different. Fortunately for me i explored something spiritual that was not taught in the Bible at an early age. It is only vaguely mentioned in the Bible. That is the practice of listening to God not always talking and making requests.

Talking to God: Prayer

While it is true that Christianity is a major influence here in the west and commercials have molded our beliefs- I think the difference in just yours and my generation differentiates our outlook. I donít believe we are forced to believe the same views you may have been impacted by growing up. We are a very diverse culture and have many avenues to choose from for our beliefs. I do find a lot in your post to gain from. I think itís beautiful, listening to god- observing god. A lot of times my meditations turn into prayer but it is something to actually shut off and witness, living freely in the moment. It is a practice for sure- thank you for your insights-  Smiley
