A young man was confused whether he should become a monk or a householder. He met a wise man and and asked his advice. The wise man took him to his house and called her wife in mid afternoon,"O wife! I lost a key here please come out with a lamp." The wife came out without asking how he need a lamp in this daylight. The wise man said" look if have this much trust then be a householder .
Then he took him to meet a monk who lived on the top of a small hill. They were well received by the monk. during conversation the wiseman asked the monk, " Sir, what is your age ?". The monk replied, " My age is 72 years. Again after sometime he asked, "Sir, Please tell me your age?"
The monk again replied kindly," It is 72 years".
They came out and again the wise man asked him and kindly informed so.  They reached down the hill and again the wiseman shouted," Swamiji! what is your age?" The monk shouted back," Son! It is 72 years." The wiseman shouted," Sir! I cant hear you".
The monk descended the hill and kindly said," It is 72 years".
The wise man advised the youngman, " If you have this much patience be a monk".

Thank you prabhat for sharing this story. It reminds me of a few Buddhist stories I have read, about wisdom of choices.

I wonder which choice the young man decided on ?
