Most of us are hoping for those spaces to take place in our meditation. A space is a moment or two between our busy sense impressions and thoughts. A few moments when the mind isn’t thinking about what our bodies will be doing next, various responsibilities ahead or past recollections. Then when we find these thoughts inundate our consciousness we all notice how that instead of just letting them go by and continuing with our practice we find the mind controlling and censoring thoughts.

A difference of exerting and observing? Are they equally real or does one preside over the other?
