and important lessons in the first 10 minute briefing.

he says it is important that the pause is felt solely by focusing on the breath with no additional intrusion of thought. notice the anchors for time, space and energy. notice the explanation of anxiety.

enjoy.~ <3 ~

Captivating. Thanks Eric I like the point that he makes that anxiety derails our mindfulness. “If there is any anxiety; mindfulness is not possible. Notice the fluidity of the breath and the calmness.”
Guidelines to practicing meditation;

1. Remove physical disturbances
(assimilation of posture so you can feel the steadiness which is comfortable)
2. Remove emotional disturbances
3. Remove anxiety thru mindfulness
4. Watch moment to moment from assuming the awareness
5. Feel the freedom from emotions and the warmth in the heart.

Once you feel the calmness then the sudden feeling of warmth and peace in the heart, radiate it to the whole body. Remember at that point..not the urge to do anything but just to be.
“I am that consciousness beyond the mind and ego and intellect.”

thank you steve,

this is helpful when coming back to practice.

also interesting to note that the intellect, ego and mind are also defined in sanskrit philosophy as expression or manifestation(intellect), conation or mutation(ego) and impression or retention(mind).

What I find helpful about listening to the video while practicing, is how much the mind wants to drift off and how much the awareness wants to control the mind. In this sense it is helpful to have guidance from the outside since the Will is less likely to get involved. We are rather participants in the process. The will also can create tension when it tries to control the process or our environment when we are involved with others as well. It is quite a practice to be a witness of life rather than trying to control the events that unfold in our being from moment to moment.

It’s always nice to refresh meditation with a new approach from time to time even though we may have our own  that seems best for us. We can be loyal to certain people and at the same time meet new people. In the same way we can be loyal to our specific  gurus and practice yet not be closed off to anything new that can enhance our own practice and refresh our ways of doing things putting a new perspective and twist on them.

Thanks for offering stimulating guided meditation to encourage our practice! Just think people miss the point when they are not willing to try anything new. I have met so many relics in my life. Stuck in psychological patterns and behavioral habits. It’s refreshing to meet people willing to bend and renew their lives.

Thanks for trying it out. I was feeling something beautiful by the end of it, a subtle calming and assured sensation. It sounds to me like you are bridging a gap between distinction and indifference. I am really happy to have met Swami V whose approach is both methodical and clear.

Eric I continued this discussion in ‘Guided Meditation’ simply because I have experienced many guided meditations in my life.
