thank you steve,
this is helpful when coming back to practice.
also interesting to note that the intellect, ego and mind are also defined in sanskrit philosophy as expression or manifestation(intellect), conation or mutation(ego) and impression or retention(mind).
What I find helpful about listening to the video while practicing, is how much the mind wants to drift off and how much the awareness wants to control the mind. In this sense it is helpful to have guidance from the outside since the Will is less likely to get involved. We are rather participants in the process. The will also can create tension when it tries to control the process or our environment when we are involved with others as well. It is quite a practice to be a witness of life rather than trying to control the events that unfold in our being from moment to moment.
It’s always nice to refresh meditation with a new approach from time to time even though we may have our own that seems best for us. We can be loyal to certain people and at the same time meet new people. In the same way we can be loyal to our specific gurus and practice yet not be closed off to anything new that can enhance our own practice and refresh our ways of doing things putting a new perspective and twist on them.
