Hello, all.

I have recently discovered Paramhansaji's version of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", which stirs my soul deeply. However, I sincerely want to know whether there are other verses, as well as:

"In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free
His love is marching on
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His love is marching on."

In my prior experience of His version, there is only this one verse, thus I wonder whether it is possible to spiritualise the other verses of the song..maybe somebody who knows it better than I do will be able to help?

Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

Live to Learn We sing this song at services at SRF. i remember only the one verse and then the chorus. Then we return back to the verse and chorus. If i ever hear more i will tell you. i think it is kept simple like most of Gurus chants: So that the words can be taken and spiritualized  with out a lot of mental effort.

If you are looking for something that stimulates the artistic and mental parts of your being you may not find it in many of Masters chants. They were used for devotion so that you could internalize and meditate afterwards. Quite frankly as a musician i find his chants boring. But that is not their purpose. i listen to music to be inspired. i listen to Masters chants to meditate. i hope this helps....Perhaps you may find interests compatible with your aspirations. Or you may eventually (if you have not already) pick up an instrument and start learning how to play. Someday you may even find that music comes with lyrics from the depths of your being. When this happens the need to use other peoples music dwindles....

I see. I have been playing the guitar for seven years now, so I suppose it's time I started putting that to use, by asking that I be a channel for music which can help others. Thank you for explaining the usage of the chant/song to me.
