Hello, all,

I am writing as a neophyte here, because I have followed Paramhansaji for nearly two years now, but I wonder whether it is only those who have been initiated in Kriya that have the right to call Him their Guru? (I have referred to him as Guruji before, because in my heart I feel that He is the "Guru" for me.)

Any advice would be appreciated- Happy New Year to all!

Live to Learn

Hi Live to Learn it is so nice to have you here with us. What makes you think you are such a neophyte? Two years in this life and how many in others? Anyhow you can call him your guru but you don't want to miss out on the Kriyas if that is the case. Babaji said that just a little of this practice will save the devotee from dire suffering and collasal fears. There were quite a few off shoots from Babaji's teachings. Many of them teach Kriya Yoga. There are also some wonderful paths out there that i have been exposed to. Amma has some wonderful techiniques and there are many others. Hope that you find the one that suits your temperment and spiritual search early in life as it seems you have....

I thank you, Jitendraji.

I am relieved that I have not committed some great "offence".

Bless you, Namaste!

You have clarified this beyond all measure for me, and I greatly appreciate it. If I can do anything for you, I am at your service.

May God and Gurus bless you!

As you know doubt know the term guru means teacher. i think Nomaste knows a bit more about this subject since he has a knowledge of some of the other paths that teach Kriya Yoga and investigated them before making his own personal commitments. It is rather interesting you know:The Kriya technique did not just come thru Paramahansa Yogananda. Sri Yukteswar, Lahiri Mahasaya and Babaji had other students. Then we find out that there are other 'Masters' that we meet in our life travels. They too are elevated souls with a mission to spread teachings and techniques. Everyone has to find their own given path and it might not be SRF and this path that is associated with Paramahansa Yogananda. That is what is nice about this life; there is variety and we can learn from our brothers and sisters of other paths. That is why this forum is not specifically called Yogananda, Paramahasaji or Yoganandaji etc.

We hope that all will feel welcome here with their various views and paths. We are large enough minded and open hearted to welcome Native Indians, Angels, Buddhists, Celts etc. etc. and we are not threatened by thier views and backgrounds but look forward to learning from them as well. It often seems to me that when people align themselves too strongly to only one view they often run the risk of boxing themselves in with those views. i find that often meeting people from other paths exposes some of the blind spots you might have due to being so inundated by your own persuasions. That is my experience.

Thanks for your advice, Steve.

In the spirit of enquiry, may I ask where I can find out more about Amma?

Thanks for your advice, Steve.

In the spirit of enquiry, may I ask where I can find out more about Amma?

Yes Live to Learn i consider her a sat guru as Nomaste2All has described. It is soooooo wonderful to share info about her with you and others. When ever i even think about her i start feeling a bit of that joy and love that she embodies. As far as i know she comes to England every year but ofcourse living here in the states; i keep more in touch with her tour here. There are many young people who come that are about your age. She even has an area dedicated to young adults. My hope is that you also make your presence known at our 'Young Adults' here at soulsearching. i meet many young people who have come on this forum. i think we need a leader to start getting their interest. i remember when i was young that for many years i was alone because young people were not interested in my interests.

As i look back though i think i was being prepared to spend time alone meditating. It is somewhat like the dots that connect together that Nomaste speaks of in 'Synchronicity'. Over the years you start to see them connect together and it starts making sense from a spiritual perspective. i wonder if possibly you might be a pioneer in this endeavor?  i also wonder if they have an SRF center near where you live? i know there are centers there in England because a friend of mine lives there. Have you also checked: http://Yogananda.org for these locations?

Contact Amma at: http://Amma.org

Unfortunately, the SRF centre in England is nowhere near me- I think it may be because of this that I naturally seem to gravitate towards Ananda, but I know that one may 'only' find the pure form of Guruji's teachings through SRF. I know what you mean about the mere thought being enough to bring to consciousness the feeling which comes from being around a great one. It's a pity that SRF has not yet spread south...

When i was in Michigan i asked SRF if there were any SRFers in my area. You might do that so you can meditate with them. There were many Buddhists in the area i lived at one time. So i helped a Buddhist group get started. Such fond memories. Perhaps you may be a pioneer in your area as well. Never underestimate your abilities. i am glad that you found some solice at Ananda.

(((((((( LTL ))))))))  Hugs to you,

i feel the same....as if we know one another.... Smiley

our souls connect...is the feeling i have.  besides maybe running into one another on PY site.... Wink

it is at a deep level....i feel.  yes ?  Cheesy

souls with like vibrations...naturally attract to one another also.

many souls here on forum are attracted to Paramahansa Yogananda...some are 'students', he, their teacher.

when body sleeps at night....soul leaves body...

when soul leaves body....many times it goes to where there is love.  many times i go to guruji....and so do other souls.....we 'hang' with him during sleep.  maybe, we run into one another there too  ?  and also other 'students' of guruji....

sometimes souls...hang with other souls...in groups...groups of 'like vibrations'....

like attracts like.... Cheesy

God and Guruji's bless you LTL

((((Hugs))))
