Hello,

I have been sharing a life with a very special for sometime, my soulmate. It has been a wonderful and blessed journey. Currently there has been a long physical distance between us, that sometimes gets the best of me, emotionally. I try to stay focused and strong, but sometimes I feel like I am losing touch of myself. I have been reading the Bhagavad Gita for the first time, and it has been helpful in aspects of my life; self discipline and the search for understanding. I am having trouble being strong through this time, for not only myself but for us both. I am searching for guidance on strength in love and help focusing my energy on the positive and not to dwell on the negative. I stay strong for a few weeks, I follow through with my disciplines and am confident in my choices, but then a wind knocks me down and I have much trouble getting up on my own. I feel inside me cycles/seasons of feelings; spring, summer, autumn, winter. How do I detach myself from these feelings and my insecurities? I am a baby in the world of spirituality and understanding, so I know I have so much that I need to address and work on. I want to focus at this time on letting go of inner doubt. I am thinking that maybe these feelings are not from insecurities of our relationship, but they go deeper to insecurities of myself, responsibilities and dependence on just myself. I fear I am not strong enough for my self. I need to work on strengthening my inner self. How do I build up that strength?

"As the mountainous depths
of the ocean
are unmoved when waters
rush into it,
so the man unmoved
when desires enter him
attains a peace that eludes
the man of many desires."

Thank You for joining us Mapletree. We know very little about you accept that you have chosen a most unusual name. i wonder why. i hope you find support here at soulsearchingforum as i think many of us do. Some of the other members may have more insight and respond sooner than i do to your post. i noticed that Abysmal Touch has already responded; thanks.

You will find various paths that we have chosen as different members of the forum. One may appeal to you if you do not already follow a spiritual path that you have found for yourself. We offer our friendship to each other, prayers and support. i do not presently have a 'soulmate' in my life. i have learned to find happiness in myself without looking for it outwardly. It is not always easy and sometimes i slip and fall on my face so to speak. But i do find much love and support in divine friendship. Hopefully you will find some here.

In Divine Friendship

Thank you for your support and in welcoming me. In my recent days of studying and searching, I'm realizing that there are two very important things in life; spirituality and companionship. Two things that this site seems to be about.
As for my name.. my group of friends have adopted tree names for nicknames. Mine is the maple tree.. it was on a whim, but I'm finding that it may be fitting to who I am. It is a simple and seemingly ordinary tree, but to me I enjoy the somewhat simple, childish lighthearted characteristic, but can be old and wise at times. The person who I am distanced from right now is named Seqouia tree. He has high ambitions in life but remains rooted and grows surely higher through time.

~nice to meet you,friends  Smiley

I do not know if this resonates with you but it is something that i offer to Live and Learn as well. Sometimes people are taken away from us temporarily or permanently so that we can expand our love beyond the confines of a single relationship. When we begin to understand this we begin to understand the nature of divine love.

Thank you, Jitendraji.

I know what you mean, and will endeavour to remember this as the testing time approaches.
