When man understands even by way of influence the true nature of this creation, the true relation existing between this creation and himself; and when he further understands that he is completely blinded by the influence of darkness (Maya) and that it is bondage of darkness alone  which makes him forget his real self and brings about all his sufferings, he naturally wishes to be relieved from all of these evils. This relief from evil, or liberation from the bondage of Maya becomes the prime object of his life. Sri Yukteswar

Thanks Blue Nova. i could have not said it better. If we are deep in sleep we dream happy dreams and sad dreams and sometimes in this long sleep someone like a Sri Yuktewar will come to remind us that we are dreaming in a deep sleep. If we are satisfied with our world we tend to except things as they are. If we start to awaken we start wanting to be relieved of this ignorance. At this point words by such a one as Sri Yukteswar serve to remind us of the beautiful journey we are taking homeward.

These thoughts come to us through one who has woke from the dream and has come back to help us. That is how these thoughts have manifested.
That is why one such as these are venerated and we are so fortunate to have them in our presence.

hey Steve,

I am in agreement with the gratitude on " we are so fortunate to have them in our presence " ~ the holy elders and their teachings. Was just in wonderment on how these thoughts came into being.

thanx to you also for the explanations  Cool
