Stay in a spiritual environment here at spiritual portal. When you have a certain stimulus you have a certain response. We are trying to create a spiritual environment to help our unfolding evolution.

Yes, Steve, seems we are creating an environment via Soul Searching Forum to find, maintain, expand "Center" ?    Through compassion of sharing, searching, loving, caring...   ?    It is an extension of the dance of Spirit and Nature, just as our inner service, and outer activity...  we walk the streets of life expressing, we type our words here...   let it flow, hopeful and grateful for moments moving within "Center"....

Jai Ma Namaste2All as you perhaps know i used the word 'response' not 'reaction' our responses to the stimulus that stands before our senses does not have to be a reaction but rather a spiritual response to unfolding possibilities.

If it takes but one saint to make a heaven of hell, then all of these aspiring saints (on this board) can surely make this forum spiritual. It certainly seems to be heading in the right direction , from my unique but unqualified perspective, anyhows. Thanks to Steve and all who contribute here.

Weboflife thanks so much for joining us lately. If you only knew how much others have helped on this forum. Each one has a unique contribution. I am afraid to start pointing them out because i might forget someone. But the truth is that I pray almost daily for the members who i visit with and who share with me and others. i know i am fortunate to have all these spiritual friends. i just want to tell you all that if you ever come out to the City of the Angels (Los Angeles) while i am living here please tell me. i would like to see you and show you around a bit.

In gratefulness to you all and many blessings to come but be here now and be there later.

Namaste2All another word that can be used here is 'reactive' as you have used instead of response. Do we react to events and people or do we enjoy the fascination and the show that is being shown even though the part we have to play might not always be so enjoyable outwardly speaking. We still play are part to the best we know how thru many incarnations of rehearsal.

Quite often we find a place where our meditation seems to go better. Sometimes it is governed by proximity to various
areas.

i spend some time with a friend who likes to meditate in the bathtub. Some people find that being immersed in water is helpful to relaxation. It might appear as weird to others. But I wouldn't let it affect me. If it works for them I support them in their practice.

In the same way i had to spend a couple of weeks near Masters' crypt at Forest Lawn in Glendale California. i was getting a major repair on my car. It was easy to get there from the Hollywood temple and i had several inspiring meditations there plus i was miraculously healed after i spent time there and under the Pepper Tree at Mt. Washington.

Now that i am in Michigan there are special places here i like to be to meditate. It is wonderful when we find places suited to us. Yet in busy times it is better to meditate wherever we can. Recently i was at the 'Y' in Grand Rapids and even the chapel was having a conference. So... i went in the bleachers over the lap pool. Even though it was noisy there Master seemed to have blessed me by making the effort to go wherever i could and i had a wonderful meditation.

We cannot change others for thinking we are weird for meditating and sitting where the vibrations suit us. Love, nature sounds and the calmness and support of others around us are some contributing factors to a meditative environment. Yet if these are not available, it is best to continue our practice anyhow and not let the opinions of others affect us.

It saddens me if I spend too much time looking through the dark  thoughts of some sad minds. However, there comes a time when we  recognize that the most boring people are those who try to appear 'normal' in the eyes of others. They are truly funny!

Environment is of supreme importance to spiritual progress. It is greater than will power. You must surround yourself with a good environment. If you keep a little plant without a protective hedge, animals can come and destroy it. So it is with your little plant of Self-realization. if you keep it exposed to the animals of selfishness and wrong environment; it will be destroyed.... and when the plant is watered and cared for, it will grow and blossom into beautiful flowers of wisdom and love.

It has been shown to me more and more throughout the years that we can choose our own mental environment. We can put the gurus in our presence by thinking of them, serving them, asking them to help us with our meditations, putting them in our third eye and most importantly practicing the meditation techniques they have blessed us with. Eventually at certain times they will become very real to us and their presence undeniable.

I was meditating this morning at of all places the YMCA. Yet I had very peaceful meditation. I meditated in their chapel. As I was meditating I remember the countless times i meditated at Master's crypt and the beautiful soft music that played through the halls. I had my phone with me and played meditation music and it reminded me of the incredible times i had at Master's crypt. I also have gratitude for living in Michigan where there are many wonderful places you can go and get away from the traffic and city and listen to streams, rivers and feel the breeze on your face while you hear it blow through the leaves of trees. All of which contribute to serene meditations.

I have found this rainforest cafe with comfortable seats to sit and meditate and listen to the waterfalls. It is surprising- the hidden blessings the master's send us to help us meditate.
